Pablo Gómez-Acebo Calonje
Pablo Gómez-Acebo Calonje is a lawyer, admitted in Madrid and in the State of New York, with more than 25 years of experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, structured finance and cross-border transactions. His career combines multilateral institutions (legal counsel at MIGA, World Bank Group, in Washington), international law firms and the legal direction of operations for multinationals present in Spain.
Since 2013 he has been a partner at Estudio Jurídico Alliantia, where he has acted as board secretary and adviser to the boards of leading companies and has led complex corporate transactions. For over twenty years he has advised a number of multinationals on political risk cover for investments worth more than USD 2 billion in energy, water, infrastructure and telecommunications.
As a fractional executive he serves as external general counsel and company secretary for mid-sized companies and Spanish subsidiaries of international groups: legal judgement in the management committee, corporate governance, contracts and transactions, supported by a network of senior lawyers for sector-specific matters.
A graduate in Psychology and a trained mediator, he brings an unusual capability for a general counsel: understanding what lies behind a dispute between shareholders, in the boardroom or with third parties, before deciding how to resolve it. He is the founder of AEAF.
