For professionals

Admission criteria and code of conduct

AEAF is a selective alliance: members join by invitation or after an assessment that includes a personal interview. These are the requirements for joining and the commitments every member accepts in writing.

Admission criteria

Admission is a decision of AEAF and gives no right to the applicant. AEAF is not required to give reasons for a refusal.

  1. Career. At least ten years of professional experience, a substantial part of it in management roles or advising management.
  2. Fractional practice. Working, or being ready to work, as a part-time executive or advisor for several companies, with your own set-up.
  3. Qualification. Current qualifications, professional registration or authorisation where the activity requires it.
  4. Liability. Professional indemnity insurance where the activity requires it or makes it advisable.
  5. References. At least two professional references that AEAF can verify.
  6. Interview. A personal conversation with the founder of AEAF.

Code of conduct

AEAF members undertake to:

Integrity

Act with honesty and diligence, and not accept work they are not qualified for.

Confidentiality

Keep companies’ information confidential, during and after the engagement.

Conflicts of interest

Identify them, disclose them and stand down where they cannot be resolved. Not work for direct competitors at the same time without the consent of both.

Independence

Each member sets their fees and terms freely. AEAF does not set, recommend or coordinate them.

Professional rules

Comply with the professional conduct rules and regulation of their field.

Use of the member mark

Use “Accredited member of AEAF” only while a member, and without implying that AEAF is answerable for their services.

Responsiveness

Respond to enquiries passed on by AEAF within seven working days, even if only to decline them.

Shared reputation

Not act in ways that damage the reputation of AEAF or of other members.

Leaving

Membership ends at the member’s request, on fifteen days’ notice, or by decision of AEAF where these commitments are breached. On leaving, use of the member mark ceases and the directory profile is removed.
